Perspective I

In this blog I wish to share and convey with you my perspective of what I see as beautiful in nature or in other shapes and forms. You may be a friend, family, fellow blogger, naturalist, and I get joy out of sharing with you, or anyone who has an interest or even people who do not, who I can convert to see beauty in these things.
I share my perspective through my photography.  Most of it is in nature, through all seasons.  But I may occasionally post photos of buildings, structures, or simple items. When I venture out, I do not set out to see something in particular, but I visit different places to see new things and whatever is there at the time.  Because early or late is best for light, I try my best to be out on a foray at those times, but if I can't, I'll do the best I can with whatever light I have.  I do edit my photos, but only to bring out what I have seen.  Occasionally I will alter a photo for a certain effect, but I will mention that.  I like to see B&W photos sometimes.  I used to shoot film and develop photos in an actual darkroom, so B&W has a special spot in my heart. The details of nature are important to me, appreciating shape and color and the combination strike me dead in my tracks sometimes.  An example are these dried swamp weed pods I saw this April.  They had broken apart last Fall, releasing their seeds.  These pods lasted the winter.  If there had been a lot of snow, these may have broken off, especially the horizontal one, but we had a mild winter.  I appreciated this particular scene for a few reasons.  The shape of the horizontal pod reminded me of a long headed/beaked bird.  Because I love herons, and they abound at this site, it reminded me of a heron with it's eye on top.  I also enjoy the muted colors and combination of tan, white, and blue.  The sky was blue which has an effect on the upper surfaces of the pods!  I also enjoy the simple composition of the photo, and the background. So, this is my introduction.  I hope my work may touch you in some way.  Go for a walk, be silent sometimes, and you will see, hear and feel things you have not experienced before!
